Register to Vote

In order to register to vote you must meet the following:

THE LAST DAY TO REGISTER IS ALWAYS 15 DAYS PRIOR TO ANY ELECTION, HOWEVER, PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT VOTERS WHO REGISTER AFTER 29 DAYS BEFORE AN ELECTION WILL NOT RECEIVE A SAMPLE BALLOT BOOKLET OR OTHER ELECTION INFORMATION BY MAIL.

Voter registration cards are available at the following locations:

Fill out Voter Registration Cards CLEARLY in dark ink and always make sure you supply all required information and SIGN your name in order for your registration to be valid.

If you live in an apartment, always make sure you fill in your apartment number of your residence address.

Once your registration card is submitted to the Butte County Elections Office for processing, you should receive WRITTEN NOTIFICATION within 3-4 weeks. If you do not receive notification, please contact Butte County Elections at 530-538-7761 or 1-800-894-7761(within Butte County).

REMEMBER TO  ALWAYS RE-REGISTER IF YOU HAVE ANY CHANGE TO YOUR NAME, RESIDENCE ADDRESS, MAILING ADDRESS OR PARTY AFFILIATION.

In an effort to keep our voter rolls current, we follow federal and state laws to remove voters from the rolls. The following is how we determine voter eligibility:

You will need to re-register in order to vote.

Don't let this happen to you. Either vote, respond to one of our mailings, or write and let us know that you want to stay on the voter rolls. If you write us, please include your current residence address, mailing address, your date of birth, and your place of birth.
