To be a student poll worker you must be:

- At least 16 years of age at the time of the election.
- A United States citizen or will be a citizen at the time of the election.
- A student in good standing attending a public or private secondary school.
- A senior with a grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Why would I want to do this?
- Earn a little extra money on Election Day, see democracy first hand, be involved in the voting process, American freedom and choice of elected officials.
- Come join us and find out why the older generation cherishes their right to vote and see how one vote really can make a difference.
What do I have to do?
- As poll workers, students participate in the operation of a polling place.
- Attend a four-hour Precinct Officer Training Class prior to Election Day.
- Be a member of a Precinct Board and experience the democratic process.
How do I sign up?
Contact your government teacher to get involved. Your teachers will nominate qualified students to serve and will submit the names to the Butte County Elections Office.
