What Would I Be Doing For Butte County?

You would work as one of the following:

Inspector

The Inspector provides guidance to precinct board members. The Inspector MUST be available the Saturday before Election Day to pick up equipment and supplies from the warehouse in Oroville. The Inspector is obligated to attend a 4-hour training class prior to each election.

Inspectors are to contact their board members to confirm their assignment, verify the location and directions to the polling place and advise them to be at polling place on Election Day at 6:00am. During the day, the Inspector will administer precinct officer breaks, lunch and dinner times. In addition, Inspectors must make sure that the polling place is open for voting to commence at 7:00am and that voting continues until the polls close precisely at 8:00pm. The Inspector administers and coordinates the closing procedures and makes sure that all paperwork is properly completed. Accompanied by one other precinct officer after the closing of the polls, the Inspector must deliver to the designated receiving center all equipment and supplies. Inspectors must have a reliable vehicle.

Voting System Specialist

Assist the Inspector and is responsible for the touch screen equipment. Responsible for assisting the Inspector with set up of equipment either the day before Election Day or election morning. Must attend a 6-hour technical training class.

Clerk

Assist voters on Election Day under the direction of the Inspector. Must attend one 4-hour training class.
