Birth certificates are available for births occurring in Butte County. If the child has been adopted, or had a legal name change, the birth certificate may only be available from the State Vital Records Office at http://www.dhs.ca.gov/hisp/chs/OVR/Ordercert.htm

The fee for a certified copy of a birth certificate is $20.00. You may order a copy of a birth certificate by using one of the following:

• Coming into the office at 25 County Center Drive, Suite 105, Oroville. The process takes approximately 10-15 minutes. You will receive the certified copy at that time.
• Mail the completed applications and the $20.00 fee to:
