Pursuant to California Family Code, Section 401(a) and (b), the County Clerk may, at her discretion, appoint Deputy Marriage Commissioners to perform civil marriage ceremonies.

Application to be appointed Deputy Marriage Commissioner.

The requirements to be appointed Deputy Marriage Commissioner are:

• The person must be 18 years of age or older.
• The person must appear in the office and present picture identification.
• The person must know the names of the parties he/she is marrying and the date of the marriage.
• The fee is $58.00.
